This report 46 presents the results of SARS-CoV-2 contamination of wastewater at the entrance of 13 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) at the beginning of the fifth week of 2021. As previous week, the SARS-CoV-2 RNA fluxes occurring in sewage treatment plants at the early beginning of the week 05 indicate a medium prevalence of the virus in sewage at national and regional level. The downward trend corresponds to an average reduction of about 1.3 log compared to the maximum peak of the current wave. At the level of the treatment plant, similar dynamic patterns were observed, with a decreasing trend for all the plants analysed. For some of them, the RT-qPCR signal is close to the limit of quantification of our tests or is sometimes even below the limit of quantification.
